The seams run both ways here, so the padding sits in squares instead of long channels and there is nowhere for it to travel. It is the reason the jacket keeps its shape across the chest rather than settling at the waist. The body is cut short to the top of the hip, the hood is generous and pulls in on a drawcord, and both hand pockets are cut into the side seam.
